Updating your ceiling fans

Hey everyone,
I posted a few weeks ago on our instagram @grimdesignco about our ceiling fan makeovers. Ross installed beautiful beadboard ceilings, which finally gave us the opportunity to reinstall our living room and kitchen lighting. The living room has two fans and the kitchen one, all in good working order. As they were they weren't bad at all, but didn't quite go with the rest of our design scheme.

They are hampton bay brand with reversible light or dark wood blades and brushed nickel finishes.

This was such an easy update!
I mixed my own chalk paint for the motor, but I love the color Coffee Bean by Dixie Belle paint if you need a great black. For the blade holders and all the other black accent pieces I used black satin spray paint. And that was it for the living room fans. Super easy.

For the kitchen fan, I decided to go with the lighter blades. I added a simple geometric print using painters tape and chalk paint. Once dried I sprayed with poly, satin finish. See the progression of painting the blades below. Thanks!
