Ross v. The Door: the first home improvement
One point to Ross for successfully replacing the laundry room door! It put up quite a fight, but after two days of multiple trial and error Ross’ resolve won out.
Prior to closing the wood rot on the exterior laundry room door and frame had to be replaced. Our seller is out of state so he has given allowances for repairs. We decided to tackle this one on our own because it didn’t seem too difficult.
We found a great door for a great price that included the frame. Unfortunately it did not go in easy. After ripping out the rotted frame, Ross realized that some previous do-it-yourselfers took some suspect shortcuts. The ground was not level and there was randomly poured concrete he had to rip out among other small things. Ross would not be defeated. He worked and reworked the door and fram for almost two days to get it fully operational.
The previous door was a solid wood. We love this one! So inviting and encouraging to use the patio space which we think is where Ross will grill. One more week before we can get in and really get to work on the house!
