Christmas fun: The do it yourself kind

We are crafting christmas year. My cousins, except one, have all started their own families. For them I made insta-coasters. My aunt and uncle, who are now grandparents, get coasters too.

There are several good tutorials for this gift. I'll run through quickly what I did.

1. Visit the local Re-store and pick up the tiles. I bought mine for $0.25 a piece.

2. Pick your fave pics and crop them in a 4:4 square. Or in the Walgreens app you can pull directly from your Instagram account.

3. Modgepodge the front of the tile. Place the photo making sure the edges are pressed firmly. Modgepodge over the photo.

4. Repeat this step 2 or 3 times.

5. Once completely dry, seal with water based poly. Two coats.

6. Put adhesive felt on the back.

7. Wrap them up pretty

since my other cousin has no kids he gets a wall mount bottle opener!
1. Clean your board so that it is relatively smooth. I started with a sign I bought thrifting.
2. Next either stain or paint the color you want. I used a black matte.
3. Freehand or trace your design.
4. Attach your wall mount opener.
5. For more distress lightly sand all over.
