Today we tackled the rest of the floor removal. The Linoleum. Capital
"L" because it didn't go down easy. Thankfully my mom found a stripper
machine to rent. With it we finished in 6 hours. A tough 6 hours.
Whoever laid down the original floor really wanted it to stick. The glue
was insane. I cannot imagine scraping it up by hand. I don't know if it
would even be possible.

My dad gets the bulk of the credit. He worked hard. But it was my mom who saved the day when the stripper broke down. She whipped out her tools and tinkered around until she brought the old girl back to life. When it was all said and done I can take credit for the small bedroom and the kitchen. The stripper can take credit for the bruise on my left abs. It was worth it. We beat the floors. Later
linoleum.

In the down time while the stripper was busted we removed the bedroom sink. On all those HGTV shows demo looks easy. Sledge hammer, crowbar, whack, whack, and the thing is in pieces ready for the dump. In real life, no. It was tough because we didn't want to damage the wall behind it. We used a putty spreader to create a barrier between the crowbar and the wall. Then we gently worked the bar back and forth until it was loose enough rip from the wall. After the nails were loose it was pretty easy.
Now I have a regular normal spare bedroom. I'll leave the mirror and frame it up. A dresser will fit nice under it.
